CUSTOMER SENTIMENTS ON SUSTAINABILITY

CUSTOMER SENTIMENTS ON SUSTAINABILITY

THE CHALLENGE

Our client wanted to gauge the sentiments felt regarding sustainability as a culture, across a selection of geographical areas.
In particular, they wanted to assess demographic and human elements contributing to behaviors and attitudes towards
sustainability. They were also interested in learning what traits might exist between and amongst cultures with respect
to sustainability.

THE SOLUTION

Our team met with the client to determine the preferred geographical and demographical components. The participants
were narrowed down to 32 individuals representing eight different countries. They encompassed a range of ages, incomes,
landscapes (urban vs. rural), and cultures.
We conducted three interviews with each participant. They were done both on-site and virtually, resulting in approximately
five hours spent with each. In-depth insights were gained about behaviors, opinions, and attitudes with respect to sustainable
practices. In addition, daily diary entries collected from each participant, describing their habits and preferences, comprised our
supporting data.
The information gathered was used to create matrixes of information that was sorted and analyzed based on country, age, and
urban or rural designation. Trends were quantified and supporting details proved helpful in qualitative measures.

THE OUTCOME

Our client gained valuable insight regarding the driving factors related to sustainability, with perspective from several countries.
Using this knowledge, they developed an informative whitepaper for their customers when engaging with end-buyers. This
group effort increased and empowered awareness of culturally relevant sustainability endeavors.
